My work is rooted in yoga therapy, using the framework of the koshas to understand the body as an interconnected system of physical, mental, and energetic layers. This holistic perspective informs my focus on trauma, hormonal balance, and stress regulation.
From this foundation, I developed the Soma Release Technique: a form of somatic movement designed to support and regulate the nervous system through awareness, breath, and intuitive motion. Soma, meaning “the living body experienced from within,” reflects the core of this practice, restoring connection between body and mind.
My approach is shaped by my background in classical and modern ballet, alongside my deep interest in how nature supports healing. Growing up in Suriname, I was immersed in the rhythms and intelligence of the natural world, which continues to inform my work.
